Q3.) What have you learned from your audience feedback?

We created two focus groups to get some audience feedback. The first was through an online surve on SurveyMonkey which allowed us to ask our target audience some direct questions on what they though of the music video, website and digipak.

The online survey:

The general consensus to this survey was that we linked our ancillary texts to our music video well due to the blue accent colour. As well as our music video's narrative being very clear. An online survey was appropriate as out target audience are aged between 16-20 years old therefore the age in which they would all have access to the internet whether that be through their phones or computers.

Throughout our planning and production we felt it was important to have feedback from our target audience therefore we created small questionnaires on paper which we gave out to our target audience. This feedback helped us dramatically in deciding what our final narrative would be as we had to make sure that it would be enjoyable for our audience.

Another way of finding out our audiences opinion was simply to ask their opinion and record what they had to say. This allowed them to say whatever they thought about our project without the restriction of questions.

Lastly to get even more feedback, we decided to film some poeple in our target audience bracket and simply ask them what they liked about the music video and what we could improve on.

After recording some of our target audience we found that they generally thought  that the music video could've been much more professional if the acting was more believable as they noticed in some scenes the actors were trying hard not to laugh when it was a serious scene they should have been acting.

Another way which we could have improved on was using more quick cuts as this meant the video was more exciting and helped to build the excitement of the song and what was about to happen in the narrative.

We also learnt that they liked the black and white effect as they felt it linked in well with the video's theme. They also liked how the digipak photo of the cigarette linked in with the male actor smoking in the video.

The narrative was very clear and it came across well. Also they like how the clothing of the female actress reflected the genre, as well as the settings.

Overall we learnt that if the acting was more efficient in our music video then the overall effect would've been better. Also if we included more quick cuts the video would've been much more exciting. However we found that our audience did think our website, digipak and video linked in well.
